CHAPTER
REQUIREMENTS
DASTAK,
Network of Pakistani Professionals, NA, is a not for profit organization dedicated
to the professional development, community service, and the overall advancement
of Pakistani Professionals in which we work and live.
Starting
a New Chapter:
- There
must be no DASTAK Chapter within a 200 mile radius of your local area
- DASTAK-NA
Board for Chapter Development will work directly with you
- A
"mentor chapter" which is mutually selected or assigned will help in the
start-up process
Process
of Starting a New Chapter:
- Gather
at least 4-5 people who will work cohesively on the local chapter Board
- Get
a postal address (P O Box Preffered)
- Submit
a Letter Of Intent (LOI) to DASTAK-NA indicating desire to start a local
chapter
- Once
DASTAK-NA receives LOI via postal mail or email, the requestor:
- officially
becomes a "start-up chapter" in "probationary status", i.e. participation
in DASTAK-NA activities but no voting rights
- allowed
placement of link on DASTAK-NA web page
- Start
having events in all areas, DASTAK-NA Board will help with ideas
- Participate
in all DASTAK-NA activities
- Become
incorporated at the local level
- Progress
of chapter formally reviewed by DASTAK-NA approximately 6 months from filing
the LOI; constructive suggestions provided on enhancing the quality of the
chapter
- Final
progress vote on acceptance of chapter approximately 1 year from submitting
LOI; if voted in, chapter is an official chapter with voting rights on DASTAK-NA
issues (1 vote/chapter)
- Establish
a banking relationship.
Remaining
a Good Standing Chapter:
- Financial
good standing (pay annual dues, currently US $100 per year)
- Participate
in all DASTAK-NA activities, projects. and other initiatives
- Have
an elected and structured local Board
- Communicate
all DASTAK-NA issues to local membership
- Participate
in one DASTAK-NA committee:
- Events

- Fundraising
Committee
- Marketing
Committee
Relationship
Between Local Chapter & DASTAK-NA:
- Local
chapter has its own officers and is run and managed at the local level
